L’Avenue

L’Avenue is a 50-storey residential tower on a mixed-use podium located across from the home of the Canadiens in Montréal. The building is the tallest residential tower in the city, with a stepped form that is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional New York tower form, artfully tapering towards the top as it ascends.

The striking form of this tower contains 350 residential units, and sits over a sculptural 7 storey podium with over 100,000 sq ft of office space that is currently occupied by WeWork, a Provigo Food store at the second level, with a café and retail occupying the ground floor. The combination of the tapered top and the skewed façades on the south face of the tower create an iconic and instantly recognizable silhouette in the Montréal skyline.

Located on Avenue Des Canadiens, directly across from the Bell Centre (home of the Montréal Canadiens), this building serves local residents and sports fans alike. The mixed-use nature of the building, combining retail, office and residential in a single development and exciting, accessible urban environment, makes it a highly desirable address to live and play in. The choice of materials, formal disposition and attention to detail that this project contemplates have distinguished it as a signature project for IBI’s Living+ practice.
